Student Essay Contest

All students are invited to participate in an essay contest that “Brings Readers and Writers Together.”

Students, write a brief essay about story writing based on questions at your grade level.

Bring your essay responses to the Oaks Mall, Gainesville, FL, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and win a bookworm bookmark. So, bring your Moms and Dads to the Oaks Mall to receive your prize! Don’t forget to take a look at the book sale and meet lots and lots of authors!

Characters are the people or animals that your story is about. A story could be about a bear, a fish, a king, or even about you. If you wrote a story, what or who would be your main character?
